Blue Beat Baby, compilado que les regalo, con 20 melodías de Blue Beat, sean hits o no, son unos excelentes temas.
Blue Beat, fue una discográfica formada en 1960, subsidiaria del sello inglés Melodisc. Sus registros fueron de R&B, Ska y Rocksteady. Este sello, registró más de 200 referencias, las cuales, aproximadamente 100, fueron de Prince Buster. El fin de este sello fue en 1967, fueron 10 años de ritmo azul. The Pioneers, una excelente banda Jamaicana, formada por Winston Hewitt y los hermanos de Sydney y Derrick Crooks a mediados de los 60's en Kingston. Este fue uno de los primeros grupos en tener exitos internacionales del nuevo genero llamado ska y rocksteady. Este album fue grabado en 1968 bajo la produccion de Joe Gibbs en el sello Amalgamated.

Este es un compilado de algunos temas de los Hippy Boys que considero excelentes, algunos conocidos, otros no tanto...Espero lo descarguen y se deleiten con este excelente Reggae....Ah, y ¿Qué tal la caratula? jeje.

La banda fue formada en 1968 por Lloyd Charmers. Esta banda estaba compuesta por Alva "Reggie" Lewis, como guitarrista; Glen Adams como organista; Aston "Family Man" Barrett como bajista; y su hermano Carlton Barret como baterista.

Observe además una singular historia; Con el éxito de "Return to Django", de los Upsetters en el 69, éstos fueron invitados a una gran gira en Inglaterra, pero hubo un gran choque de horarios, por lo cual los Upsetters no podian hacer toda la gira, entonces los Hippy Boys, pasaron a ser los nuevos Upsetters, haciendo el reemplazo en la gira, por este motivo es que en la actualidad confunden a estos con los Upsetters originales.

Red Soul Community, es una excelente banda de Granada, España, encargados de hacer un Reggae no como se hacía en el 69, sino un regggae al estilo de las nuevas generaciones de bandas peninsulares y europeas, moviendose más en lo underground, añadiendo un sonido más propio y elegante, además, cuentan con una vocalista mujer, cosa que es raro verlo en el reggae (por cierto canta excelente). Espero la descarguen y disfruten de él al estilo de los Red Soul Community.

Don Drummond - Jazz Ska Attack

Su carrera musical comenzó a mediados de los 50's con Eric Deans All-Stars. Continuó hacia 1960s con otros, entre ellos Kenny Williams.

Con el nacimiento del ska Don se unió a The Skatalites. Su nombre llegó a ser conocido en Jamaica, antes de comenzar con sus problemas mentales. El pianista George Shearing lo consideró como uno de los 5 mejores trombonistas del mundo.

En 1965 fue encarcelado por el asesinato de la bailarina exótica y cantante Anita "Margarita" Mahfood, el 1° de Enero de 1965. Fue internado en el Asilo de Belle Vue en Kingston, donde permaneció hasta su muerte en 1969.

Cecil Bustamente Campbell, "Prince Buster", fue un musico de Kingston, nacido en 1938. En 1956, comienza su carrera como cantante en clubes nocturnos. Sus primeros pasos, fueron trabajando en los Sound System, donde comenzaría no como Toaster, sino como guardia de seguridad.

El tercer disco de larga duración que LOS GRANADIANS DEL ESPACIO EXTERIOR, publican bajo el sello Liquidator Music.
Este album se grabo los estudios CIRCO PERROTTI de Gijón, referente mundial en cuanto a sonido "vintage" se refiere. Toda la grabación y mezcla de este álbum ha seguido un proceso analógico y coherente con la música del grupo. Nada se ha digitalizado. Se ha registrado el sonido en cinta magnética, y utilizado amplificación, microfonía e instrumentos de los años 40, 50 y 60. El resultado es excelente, 11 nuevas canciones en las que se ha capturado el espiritu del grupo tal y como se han grabado en directo y sin demasiados añadidos.

Joel A. Gibson, "Joe Gibbs". Fue Un Productor Jamaicano De Reggae, Nacido En 1943, En Montego Bay, Y Fallecido El 21 De Febrero Del 2008.

Toots & The Maytals - Light Your Light (2007)

Su líder, Frederick "Toots" Hibbert, nació en May Pen, Clarendon, Jamaica en 1945. Creció cantando música gospel en el coro de una iglesia, pero se trasladó a Kingston en 1961, donde conoció a Henry "Raleigh" Gordon y a Nathaniel "Jerry" McCarthy. Juntos formaron el trío vocal The Maytals. En 1962-63 grabaron el álbum "Never Grow Old - presenting the Maytals", con el productor Clement Coxsone Dodd en el Studio One, y con una base instrumental de The Skatalites.

Delroy Wilson - Sarge

Delroy Wilson (Kingston, 5 de octubre de 1948 — Kingston, 6 de marzo de 1995) fue un cantante jamaiquino de ska, rocksteady y reggae.
Su música se caracteriza por una calidad compositiva que se podría decir que roza el jazz, un jazz crudo, cada instrumento tiene la misma fuerza y podría ser escuchado por sí mismo componiendo un sólo espectacular.

Murió el 6 de marzo de 1995 en Kingston en el hospital UWI debido a complicaciones en el hígado.

Lord Tanamo de 74 años y vocalista y MC de los Skatalites tuvo un derrame cerebral en junio del 2008 y desde ese entonces se encuentra abandonado en un hospital.

El cantante pionero de ska Joseph Gordon pero más conocido como Lord Tanamo, perdió su habilidad para hablar y ahora vive en un hospital de Toronto, Canadá.

"Lamentablemente el Sr Gordon tuvo un derrame cerebral que lo dejó sin la posibilidad de hablar por lo menos por un tiempo, hace muchas semanas que nadie lo visita y no tenemos éxito en contactar a algún familiar" dijo el Dr Taylor que también apela a la fraternidad de sus compañeros de la música.
